In theory yes.

I have not been able to test the SATA port on my prototype board
yet (needs a hw fix for that).

Please notice that laptop disks are not rated for continuous use,
they are typically rated for 8h/day.

Seagate has a series of disk with a suffix 'B' which are 24/24
rated but I have so far been unable to get anybody to sell me one.

Hitachi uses an 'E' prefix (E7K100..) and those are readily
available in the channel here in Denmark.

Not sure about Toshiba.
