Is anyone out there using iperf to test Ethernet circuits on a 4801?
I find that I can't do bidirectional UDP tests above 4Mbit/s for
prolonged periods (like 900s).
The test runs ok for a while and then I get bursts of packet loss every
60s or so.
I'm running Debian Sarge with a custom compiled 2.6.20.1 kernel as per
Brix Andersen's paper.
For some reason the Debian 2.6.8 kernel performs better - 10Mbit/s for
900s is ok, at 20Mbit/s I start getting errors.
Maybe it's a feature of 2.6.20.1? or perhaps the interrrupt algorithm I
chose (CONFIG_DEFAULT_IOSCHED="anticipatory").
What sort of rates can other people get out of iperf?
The command I used was: iperf -c <host> -u -d -i5 -b4m -t900
