yes , i see your point here but i was wondering exactly about the
hardware optimizations (i'm aware of software ones...well, the common
ones!)

reviewing the chipsets used on the nics (for example), i've endup in
Via where the chipset is a common hardware used on common nics (like
desktops) (http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/networking/rhine/vt6105m/)
with some others that seem fasters or optimized.

again, pardon my ignorance but i would like to understand more when
hardware optimization comes!
