Hi All,

I have purchased a net5501-70 but I am experiencing some instability
regarding the clock and the network adapters. I am wondering if it is
because of the OS or if it is hardware.

First I have sent the net5501 to Soekris to get the clock fixed but
still I experience that the clock is being adjusted by ntpd. Sometimes
by up to 12 seconds. This makes my daemons die which is unfortunate on
a server. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Is this to do
with the OS? I have tried NetBSD and OpenBSD.
There does not seem to be a pattern to when the clock is in need of
adjustment. Sometimes it can be hours before it is being adjusted and
sometimes it can be minutes before an adjustment is needed.

Second the network adapters seem to die after a few days. Then you
have to logon to the console and do an ifconfig down ; ifconfig up and
then everything is fine for a few hours/days till it happens all over
again.

Any suggestions as to what I should do to fix these problems are
welcome.

  Tim
