I think i know what is problem here... You said it's happend every few days? what type of ISP you use? DSL? if so, probably your ISP changed IP address every few days for you and kernel on your distro not setup for support dynamic ip... I dont know how to do that on bsd systems, but on linux is simple - just add this line to boot scripts: echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_dynaddr
