Hi,

I just want to share my experiences I had, when upgrading from Ubuntu
Hardy 8.04 to Intrepid 8.10 on a Soekris Net 5501.

I started with Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 and a 8 GB CF card. The card was
recognized as hdb1. Also upgrading to Gutsy 7.10 and Hardy 8.04
everything worked well.

Then I bought a Hitachi 24x7 320 GB SATA2 HDD-drive 2,5' and attached it
to the SATA-interface. The drive was recognized as hda1 and after
changing the boot-sequence in the BIOS everything was OK. I found this a
little bit mysterious, because I thought, that it should be sda1, but
well ... it works.

A few days ago I decided to upgrade to Intrepid 8.10 and the upgrade
went ok, but then, after a reboot I got the error, that the superblock
of hda1 could not be found.

After being short before a heart attack and googling around, how to
repair the superblock, I suddenly misspelled and typed sda1 instead of
hda1 and fsck returned positive. Changing /dev/hda1 to /dev/sda1 in
/etc/fstab and rebooted and everything worked.
