I think AMDs decision makes sense, the Geode line is reaching the
end of its useful designlife, upgrading it to modern expectations
would be a redesign which would compete with the main-line chips.

The "netbook" market has finally registered on the radar with both
Intel and AMD, and together with the general focus on green computing,
that clearly pushes the mainstream chips in the direction we want
for embedded and appliance use.

I talked with Søren a couple of days ago and he certainly has plans,
but what they are, we'll just have to wait and see.
