correcting me about this. This is the outlook version, hope this is not an html
format again. :)
I am a fresh guy with net5501. The BIOS version of my net5501 is 1.33c. I have
created an ubuntu 8.04 system for my net5501 board, with this instruction:

My net5501 works with both transcend 8G 133x FlashCard and Westdigital 160GB
sata hard-drive. However, the write performance in both cf-card and hard-drive
is poor. I tried to use "wget" to do a simple performance test. The test
content is:
Transfer Protocol: FTP
Transfer application: wget
The other monitor application: top
Transfer file information: a 1GB size file
Server setting: no speed limitation.
Test Result:
Transfer speed:
At very beginning 2-3 seconds, the speed is about 10MB/s, then, it just fall to
1-2MB/s. And during this whole progress, the speed is not stable (from 900KB/s
to 6MB/s), the average speed for this progress is about 1.6MB/s.
CPU Usage:
no more than 5% (get by "top")
At very beginning, I just used a trancend 8G 133x CF, and I considered that the
poor performance come from the CF card. However, with the westdigital 160GB
sata hard-disk, the performance is almost the same. I guess there are some
problem with my net5501 or my operating system.
Would you please help me to solve this issue. Thank you so much.
