The sata connecter is on a pata/sata bridge connected to the geode's
ata/ide controller..

You can see the marvell bridge in the upper right hand corner of the
board, under the cf socket.

Well if you want it to remain removable, it's probably better to simply
attach it via USB, I have a little trouble imagining it being much
faster when connected via the sata interface given all the other
bottlenecks in the path.

Presumably you're booting off either the cf interface or the pata and so
the cable select issues noted in the soekris.info wiki would apply.
