The 486 kernel works just fine on my net4801, so it's definitely worth  
a go. However, if you really mean a "CompactFlash" wireless card, if  
such a thing exists, I very much doubt it will work on the net4801 as  
the CF slot is plugged directly into the IDE/ATA controller. If you  
meant miniPCI, or don't intend this for use with a 4801, then that  
will work fine.
