I've tried kernels both with and without that option.
That option makes no difference to the error message.

It may have something to do with a conflict between the atom driver 
(127.127.22.0) and the built in PPS code in the Oncore driver 
(127.127.30.0).
When the command setting up the link from /dev/cuau1 to 
/dev/oncore.pps.0 is commented out the error message doesn't occur.
