I'd like to be able to take advantage of a larger CF card on my Soekris net4801 but need to update my BIOS to do so. Unfortunately my serial ports got fried years ago so I can't flash my BIOS in the normal way (using the serial port).
I've been able to read the current comBIOS using Flashrom (http://www.flashrom.org/Flashrom) from my NanoBSD O.S. % sudo flashrom --read /tmp/BIOS.bin flashrom v0.9.1-r710 No coreboot table found. Found chipset "AMD SC1100", enabling flash write... OK. This chipset supports the following protocols: Non-SPI. Calibrating delay loop... OK. Found chip "SST SST49LF040" (512 KB, LPC) at physical address 0xfff80000. Reading flash... done. However I don't know how to prepare the "net48xx BIOS release version 1.33" image from Soekris (http://www.soekris.com/downloads.htm) for writing to the BIOS using Flashrom.
