It assumes that the user is smart and can find a good enough formula ;) 
I'm smart and don't need very accurate results, so it's fine for me.

When I did it (I never have for the Soekris boxes) it was fairly clear 
how to edit the configuration file. I just measured (I do hope the 5501 
doesn't have any too-large cooling thingies in the way?), looked at 
other things in the configuration file to use them as examples, and the 
result was good enough.
