I've had good experience with PFSense as a firewall, router, VPN, and DHCP
server. It will do any one of those standalone should you only need routing
functionality. Google 'PFSense'
Without the quotes to see more. That sits on top of BSD instead of Linux btw.

If u go with the above u should check their hw compatibility pages for mini pci
wifi cards that will work, there are plenty out there but I don't know any off
the top of my head, sorry.

If u don't have a particular version of linux u want to use, try Debian. There
is a lot of info on the net and this mailing list on installing debian on a
Soekris machine, and from there u can install ur lamp packages. As long as ur
traffic to the machine is realistic to its processing power, u shouldn't have
too much of a problem.

If u were thinking of a router and a web server in one machine, u can do
iptables or other routing packages for Linux and do your lamp packages too. I
don't have extensive iptables experience and can't help there. I wouldn't
recommend running both the webserver and router on one box unless the load is
low, as that is completely different from running a router that has a webgui
which is rarely accessed. Have fun.
