Cannot get disk parameters boot: Is this disk too big ? CHS out of range for bios ? BTW, the manual is missing info on several bios settings, bootpartition for one. Ive tried setting it to 1, (was disabled) made no difference. $ sudo fdisk /dev/sdc Command (m for help): p Disk /dev/sdc: 4059 MB, 4059611136 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 493 cylinders, total 7928928 sectors Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes Disk identifier: 0x000af39b Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdc1 * 1 7920044 3960022 83 Linux Command (m for help): Command (m for help): x Expert command (m for help): p Disk /dev/sdc: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 493 cylinders Nr AF Hd Sec Cyl Hd Sec Cyl Start Size ID 1 80 0 2 0 254 63 492 1 7920044 83 2 00 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 3 00 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 4 00 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00 Expert command (m for help): In contrast, this CF is recognized and boots normally. whats the salient difference ?
