Hi Maarten I've been using Voyage 0.7 on a 5501 as the basis for a PBX system for a few months now and it works well. I'm a Debian fan so it was a good fit for me. When you download voyage it comes with a setup script for building the OS on a CF card complete with a profile for the Soekris box (correct COM port settings and so on).
The only problem I had was boot problems with grub (sorry, can't elaborate as it was a while ago), having failed to fix it I eventually elected to use lilo instead, since then no problems.
