Dear list members,

I got my 6501 in its case on Saturday and it seems to run fine so far, although
the USB connector JP5 seems to have been crushed severely (its plastic cover is
broken away on all sides and the metal has been squeezed a bit). Since I will
not be using it anyway and the rest looked fine, I will deal with that.

I am running an Intel SSD 320 series drive connected to SATA0 where I have
successfully created 4 partitions and copied a Debian Squeeze 32bit to. I had
this running on an Alix board before. For installing I used PXE booting of a
net boot GRML - all went perfectly fine. While the system is up it seems to be
running stable.

The only issue is that I cannot reboot the system completely. Neither GRML
(Linux 2.6.38) nor my own Squeeze (2.6.32) would reboot, they BOTH hang in the
BIOS POST messages showing

012345

and then nothing. After a power cycle it is normally showing something like

0123456789abcdefghijklmnopqr,,,tuvwxyz

or so, but on every software reboot it hangs after the "5".

Do I need special boot options to make a software issued reboot work? Or will
this be fixed in a future BIOS? I know the BIOS is not in its finished state,
but I have no idea if the reboot problem is a BIOS problem or more H/W related?

My (current but not permanent) solutions to finish a reboot is to go into the
uManager by typing "+++" in the serial console, then typing "power cycle". That
works.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Torben
