I have looked into it, the Transcend mSATA SSD boards we just received and have started to ship have the same problem, and I would think that your Transcend mSATA SSD is the same.... I turned out that the Transcend mSATA SSD don't follow the mSATA specs, according to the spec there need to be a 0 to 200 ohms pulldown on pin 51, which is used for presence detection, t.ex. on the net6501. The Transcend mSATA SSD I have have a 2 Kohm resistor, and that's too high for the net6501 to detect it. The good thing is that it's easy to fix, if you can do a little soldering.... You just remove the resistor and do a solder bridge short instead, see picture located at: http://soekris.com/media/Transcend_mSATA_mod.jpg Anybody out there who purchased a Transcend mSATA SSD from Soekris are welcome to do the modification themselve, or return the mSATA board to Soekris for modification or replacement.
