I'm using the Net6501 in the standard case with a 2.5" drive bracket.

(I'm not particularly fond of the rubber mounts on that bracket, and I
noticed that the prongs bend inwards when a drive is mounted in the
lower bay of the bracket. I have not yet seen how this works out when
there are two drives. But that's now the purpose of this suggestion.)

All 2.5" drives have 4 mounting holes on the bottom of the drives as
well as on the sides.

How about either moving the holes in the bottom of the case, or adding 4
more holes in the bottom of the case, so that one could mount a 2.5"
drive directly into the case without the need for the drive mounting
bracket at all?

I noticed that on some Antec cases that they provide a bit of thick
fibrous paper-like material (with matching holes) to serve as a bit of
sound/vibration isolation for non-SSD drives that are mounted directly
to the case.
