IIRC, this is due to lack of support for the TRIM command, which clears and rewrites old fragmented sectors in the background. Newer SSDs support TRIM, as do recent Linux kernels so it shouldn't be as much of an issue. This doesn't have any bearing on the SSD wearing-out after too many writes though. Also no CF, to my knowledge, supports TRIM (Google just proved me wrong... the CF 6.0 spec does include TRIM support). -Proto
