Hmm, two external USB disk, meaning also a USB HUB, right ? Or are you 
still using that extra internal PCIe USB controller ?

That might be stretching the USB boot code abilities a little too far, 
it's still pretty new.

I will work to resolve it, just got my USB analyzer to help, but need to 
know the exact hub and disk types so I can try to reproduce it here.

Maybe more like waiting for a time out, how long did you wait ?
What happens if you do a "reboot" after it time outs (if it do) ?

If you're still using the extra controller then a short term fix will be 
for me to update the USB boot code to only support the net6501's own USB 
controllers, which I've been thinking about doing anyway....
