That's a really good point. For me, the net6501 will be running as an OpenBSD gateway machine / firewall for my network. While I occasionally offload some tasks to my Soekris (so more processing power is useful there), the majority of the time it's idle or just filtering traffic. So, I suppose the most useful metric for me is heat / temperature while the machine is idle / low CPU usage.
