I ordered two of the net6501-70 and been trying to install an OS on one of them for several days now. With RHEL6 I seem to run into nic driver issues, when it boots the left LED is green on the RJ45 port but often when it gets to NetworkManager trying to bring up the port it comes back in yellow and no traffic then passes.
Trying pfsense and FreeBSD9.0 via pxeboot, I get at some point to see the swirly on my serial terminal but nothing else, it is as if all other text is white on white or black on black. Has anyone seen something similar? I am not very picky about what I put on these, as soon I get ... a NTP daemon, as I want to use these as our NTP masters for the internal network. The current NTP masters are RHEL4/5 machines, which will either be virtualized or will be retired, which is why I need these net6501-70 up and running.
