Hi all, I need a little please. I have several 5501-70's that are a few years old.
One in particular, unit A, seems to have problems using the CF slot when compared to using the same CF in another 5501-70, unit B. I updated the bios from 1.33 to 1.33c in unit A, which seemed to improve the bios boot behavior, thereby detecting the CF, when previously it would fail with 1.33. There is a long (30 second) pause after memory post, to loading the kernel from the CF. When the kernel loads and starts to do driver attach postings, the CF device ata0 is missing, and a long (30 second) pause takes place while trying to detect the device, which silently fails. I'm using FreeBSD 9.0 Q. Has anyone run into this, and solved it ? or is unit A just a paper weight now ?
