I am attempting to install Ubuntu12.04.1 server on a net6501 box (comBIOS
ver 1.41a) and I get the error message "Could not find kernel image:
install"

Here are the things that I have done:

Downloaded Ubuntu Server 12.04.1 LTS, 32 bit version from
www.ubuntu.com/ubuntuserver
Created a bootable USB using Ubuntu's Startup disk creator. I am using a
32GB flash drive (tried both HP and Cruzer)
I edited the boot menu configuration by replacing the line that begins with
append immediately following the kernel /install/vmlinuz with the line

append console=ttyS0,19200n8 file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu-server.seed
initrd=/install/initrd.gz

configured minicom speed to 19200/8/n/1

On booting, the system correctly identifies the USB drive as bootable,
but once I enter install, I get the error message "Could not find
kernel image: install"

I am following instructions from Mike Puchol for the whole process

Thank you for your help.
