Hello list,

a quick status update on what has been happening since last release. The 'bleeding-sofia-sip' darcs repo now has a long list of patches since 1.11.7. Soon we'll start moving these to the main CVS tree.

The main areas of activity have been:
- registration update - we are moving beyond simple
single-try logic in how SIP registration is handled; especially
we are preparing the support for draft-sip-outbound and GRUU [1,3], while
at the same time trying to work intelligently with proxies
that do not support this draft (= all current proxies ;))
- keep-alive update - once registration is succesfully established,
we need to somehow make sure it stays alive - this is partly
implementation of [1], but we also try to see what can be
  done with older proxies
- STUN API updates - the changes are needed for [1] as well
as to support the revised STUN now under work at IETF [2] -
this will unfortunately need changes in clients using the
'stun' module API (see sofia-sip/RELEASE in the upcoming release)

If you are interested in developing/testing these features,
you can try the bleeding-sofia-sip tree already now, or wait until
the features stabilize a bit and merged to the main development tree.
