Yes, this might indeed be better. But oh well, we have the registry based
implementation now and it seems to work ok.

That's a good point. In the upcoming 1.12.0 release this is now disabled
and only the system-wide settings in "...\\Tcpip\\Parameters\\" are used.

Test reports are welcome!
