Hi there,
I'm observing some strange behavior from sofia-sip when running heavy load
tests on my application.
The application is a B2BUA and the calls are originated by a SIPp script.
The receiving end is another machine running a UAS SIPp script.
When we start 500 calls per second, limited to 20000 simultaneous calls with
100 seconds conversation time, the fist wave of calls are established with
no errors or retransmissions. But as soon as these 20000 first calls start
to hangup and the subsequent calls are simultaneously generated, we see a
lot of retransmissions and unexpected messages in SIPp. When this happens,
sofia-sip starts printing "strange ACK from <IP>" messages on the screen.
I've managed to isolate one call which showed odd behavior. We can see the
INVITE received by Sofia, and the 200 OK response. After SIPp sends an ACK,
a lot of 200 OK retransmissions exist, separated by approximately 10 usecs.
Sofia then sends a BYE to this call even before SIPp has a chace to
retransmit the ACKs, which come afterwards.
Pekka, do you have any clue what might be happening? Can I get any other
data to help understand this issue?
If you want the trace I can provide it.
Thanks a lot.
Fabio
