Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been in contact here. Sofia has been serving us
well. Thanks.
I have an operational question that came up with a customer concerning DNS.
The customer has a provisioned a proxy server, but the DNS entry for the domain
is a different server, which does not support SIP.
They are complaining that REGISTER and INVITES packets go to the proxy, but
OPTIONS and SUBSCRIBE packets are going to the server with the DNS A record for
the domain.
Questions are:
For a URI specified for a domain, e.g. b...@cox.net, Is it valid to have no SIP
SRV records for cox.net and the A record for cox.net not point to a SIP server
?
Can I control the destination of the OPTIONS packets within my UA code with a
NUTAG or SIPTAG of some sort ?
Thanks for any help here. DNS is hard to diagnose...

Colin..
