Stan, CiaoRadio is in effect an SDR project. comprising both a software part and a hardware one. The hardware, as far as I know, has not been released yet. I have seen it during a Conference here in Italy, and it looks quite good and well designed. It connects to the PC via an USB port.
The software is designed so to drive the DDS in the hardware box for changes in frequency. From what I have been able to judge it also works very well, and the two togeteher should implement a very nice SDR setup. CiaoRadio implements an automatic amplitude and phase balancing, to correct for hardware misalignments, similarly to what Rocky does, but based on different algorithms. Worth to keep an eye on... 73 Alberto I2PHD -------------------------------------- Stan wrote: > CIAOradio by IK1XPV > > There is a demo version (USB only) available on the web, full version > costs about $50. > > Has many of the appearances of a SDR software program. > > Anyone know anything about this program - advantages, disadvaatages, > etc. > > Thanks, Stan ak0b ------------------------ Yahoo!
