This might have been what was on that Portugeise website (ZeroSDR I think it was) but I can't read that language. Winrad was featured there with CAIO but I do not know what the site was trying to say. Maybe I now know.
This is a cool report of how I used SDRadio and Winrad directly with the CIAO H101 USB Receiver. I noticed that the H101 DDS output stays on when the software is turned off. Then after awhile I got to thinking that perhaps the whole receiver is on when the software is off. So if this was true then wherever the DDS was set at when I turned off the CIAO software then thats where it should still be if I used SDRadio or Winrad to check the idea. On the Sound Card input I selected "USB Device" and the output is for my wave out software or "SoundMax." Well both softwares revealed the receiver was still on and tuned to where it was set at when the software was turned off. So I got to use both of Alberto's fine softwares with the QSD section of the H101 and was able to get a really good quality sound out of it also. I can also tune back and forth across the spectrum display of each software and change channels so that means the receiver was fully functional and this was not a fluke signal. Now tuning is limited to what stations are on the band spectrum display. Neither softwares can tune the DDS itself but it would be nice if it could! At this moment I am using SDRadio to listen to a broadcast station in ECSS mode. The sound quality is really good and I recommend it for listening to a high fidelity stations on mediumwave or shortwave. Winrad seems to be a very desirable software for use with the H101 to tune into a desired SSB signal and to work that with Winrad's Waterfall display. Winrad seems really good at noise elimination. So this then is a powerful accessory for me with this receiver. So this adds a whole new fun level of uses for me. I like the look of Winrad when it running anyways. Anyone who has the H101 should try it. Dan ka9rza _____________________________________________________________________ PrivatePhone - FREE telephone number & voicemail.
