Active Auto Switching Vertical Antenna PDF.zip

I propose this idea for those who like to home brew accessories for
their SDR hardware.

This antenna may be used without a pre~amp but works well with one as
an active antenna able to auto switch its wavelength and is somewhat
immune to noise. A tuner is required to make the best use of the
antenna whether used as an active or passive antenna system.

Using a direct equivalent to a close ended loop antenna, via
capacitance hats at the base and top to couple noise energy to the
ground and form a loop, this shilds itself from noise Yet, it is a
vertical HF field probe type antenna of one meter length. Note: it can
not shield all noise as a loop antenna is able to but should be a good
alternative antenna idea.

I have been developing this for HF DX use here and have made a few rf
ohmic measurments to aid you in making use of this and making
improvements with time. It does not have to be perfectly matched to
work well.

I give this idea then to CIAO Radio, i2phd and amateur radio
operators, as well as shortwavers to use as a homebrew experimental
antenna.

I like Claudio Re's vlf antenna probe he made as well as his loop he
demonstrated with the H101.
