Hi Bruce,
have you looked at the Softrock RXTX 6.2 kit? if not take a look at the
Softrock40 yahoo group. There is a link under announcements to the ordering
info. They are great value at only $30 each.

Subject: [soft_radio] What hardware to build?

Hi,

I'm new here, and new to SDR in general, but have been doing quite a
bit of reading on the subject. I think I am ready to take the plunge
and start building something, but I'm not sure what's the best to build.

The transceiver by YU1LM looks very interesting. Are there any
reasons to choose another design over that one? The 35 MHz upper
limit is fine, I will be happy to build other components if I want to
operate at higher frequencies later. This would be a place to start
with the regular HF bands. What's the output level without any amp
following? I don't mind QRP or even QRPp operation.

If anyone has actually built this rig, please let me know what you
think of it, and if there are any changes that should be made or if
you discovered any errors in the schematics and PCBs. This may be a
dead bug or Manhattan build for me, but I can make the PCB if that is
recommended.

Thanks,
Bruce - WB8OGK
