As my XYL says: "The only difference between boys and men is the price of their toys" I have to confess, that statement is very very true... :-) This little black box will put my CR-91 (with 16-pole mechanical filters) in the garbage bin (joking, well, almost). In addition, at Poste Italiane's web site, there is sufficient evidence that my Perseus was delivered by "him" (joking again) ;-) Yes, of course I have received Anthorn with Perseus! I cannot hear the Alfa signals at the moment, maybe it is because I only have the old FD-4 windom dipole "electrically available" in the shack right now (with an LF-shorting Balun), or, maybe it is because the Alfa guys haven't paid the electricty bill (again :)) Winrad works great with Perseus. Among other things, the waterfall is superior to that of Perseus software. It is also easier to tune, in my opinion. I built a "Roelof miniwhip" too, with an U310 and a 2N5109 and it works quite well. However, it suffers more from IM than a copper wire... I made a "non-scientific" off-air IM experiment by simply transmitting two weak signals from the shack to the outdoor miniwhip in order to check the 2:nd order IM. I used a HP8640B and a homebrew DDS and my CR-91 + Argo to find the IM products. I found that the miniwhip worked quite well as an unintentional mixer... To be fair, the miniwhip is a very good antenna considering its simplicity, but some preselection can make almost any RX a good performer!... 73 Johan SM6LKM
