Michael,

In the Web page describing the transceiver it says, "New mono-band SDR
transceiver AVALA-01 is ADTRX-2 transceiver with built in power
amplifier and band oscillator all on one board." So it is mono-band.
This is verified by looking at the schematic on page-4 of the AVALA-01
document from:

http://yu1lm.qrpradio.com/AVALA-01%20AND%20ADTRX2-YU1LM.pdf

On the right-side of the above mentioned schematic, look where the
antenna connects. The first thing after the antenna connector is a
band-pass filter. Just under the schematic of the band-pass filter is
a table of all the values you need for the filter components for EACH
of the bands you wish to use. You need one separate bandpass filter
for each band. if you wanted to cover 5-bands, you would need 5
filters. you can switch the filters in/out with a switch.

Hope this helps... David

Avala 01, but what I am not clear on is, does this radio cover all HF
bands or just one or is the that a function of the software? I am
still new to soft radio and am trying to learn as much as I can. I am
a computer programmer and a ham so soft radio seems like a perfect fit
for me.
