Could it be the address 55 Hex, 85 Decimal? Chris

I got the Si570 chip installed tonight (Sunday) to my V9.0 Lite RX and it tests ok using the USB_Synth.exe program. I only have the power supply and LO section installed - not to the divider yet. I can change freq - and they do change and the signal freq changes. I am monitoring the signal on a 756Pro and on my scope. The signal on pin 4 of J1 tests at about 5.6 p-p at 4 mhz. For some reason the chip will NOT operate below 3.5 mhz - what gives???? It will go up waaay high - to a gighz I think. I could see the signal increase on the scope up to 200 mhz, with the signal present on my 2 meter FM receiver at 146.82 mhz. Problem: When trying to change freq using Winrad (dll installed) the Si570 option is present, and it seems like it's working - no error is given, but the freq defaults to the 56 mhz range of freq and will not change. I tried Rocky, but it does not change either. In Rocky, the Si570 is checked on the DSP tab, with address of 55 (I think I had to change that), the freq is set at 3500000hz with a divisor of 4 - that sure seems like that should be "Multi" rather than "divisor" as it is in the USB_Synth.exe program. I was able to calibrate the USB_Synth.exe program so the freq reads out exactly as it should be on the 756Pro display. Any ideas why Winrad is not working to change freq? Winrad is my favorite program to date for RX. Rocky for that matter - Rocky does not see a sound card, but still should change freqs in the Si570 chip - shouldn't it? Thanks to all for any info. 73 de Ken H> K9FV
