Just updated my softdevice from 0.2.2 to 0.3.0. Picture-wise, it seems
to be an improvement, I'm not sure whether I'm imagining things but the
picture does seem crispier on the primary head of my g400... although I
also updated dfb so not sure who's to blame ;)

Anyhow, my sound (toslink to my amplifier) is gone. And it does seem to
be a bug in softdevice since I can do:

aplay -D hw:0,0,3 ....

or

mplayer -ao alsa:device=hw=0.0.3 ...

and get sound, but with:

vdr .... '-P softdevice -vo dfb: -ao alsa:pcm=hw:0,0,3#' ...

I don't get sound. With the previous two my amplifier informs me of an
incoming s/pdif signal with a message, but with softdevice, it doesn't.

The 'hw:0,0,3' is the optical output of my onboard via8237 chip, but the
same happens if I replace it with the string 'spdif', this might even be
the exact same thing.

Anybody else seeing this? Any ideas?

Thanks, juhis
