Hi all,

I just tested a bit more on the field parity issue on my EPIA M10k /
CLE266. I updated many things on my production system.

I now have no field parity issues, when using software decoding on the
EPIA board. Interlaced content is OK on this.
There is just a few artifacts during the first few seconds after tuning
to a channel : maybe dropped frames do not take parity into account
(since you're on this topic on the "improved lip sync with mgatv and
viatv" thread, maybe that's something to investigate).

When using hardware decoding, though, the parity issue comes back (with
"-vo dfb:viatv:cle266" instead of "-vo dfb:viatv") : scrolling text is
awfully jerky on channels like Bloomberg.

Just to be sure : does anyone have this issue when using CLE266 hardware
decoding, or must I dig into versions, patches et al. and solve it ?

viafb 2006-10-08
DirectFB 1.0.0rc2 patched for field parity ioctl
DFB++ 2007-01-24
libcle266mpegdec 0.5
softdevice 0.3.1
VDR 1.4.5

(I just mentionned a 3-weeks-old CVS update to viafb from Mark Adams :
"Added new ioctl to allow accurately timed flipping of the video
overlay. This is required to avoid occasional glitches when outputting
interlaced video through the TV out." May not be used by older 0.3.1
softdevice code, though)

TIA,
