I get week ago same error with directfb-cvs.
Today I update softdevice from cvs and saw that was some changes.
From CHANGELOG:
2007-01-20:
   - Fixed video-dfb for VIA-unichrome with current DIRECTFB cvs. In
directfbrc
     pixelformat=AiRGB must be specified.
