In XSIbase someone reported a bug with the COG+Symm option. A bug that it's been like that since I have memory. I didn't even considered a bug, but a software limitation and I learnt to live with it.
In Softimage when you have a symmetric object, select points in only one side of an object, activate Symmetry and COG and use Scale or Rotation, it will scale or rotate towards the center of both sides of the selection. To avoid this I move just a little the point pivot and now it will scale and rotate toward this pivot. So I had the brilliant idea to try to do this automatically with an script. Move the point pivot a little and move it back to the point BBox center. I don't know if it would work but that was my brilliant idea. The problem is, I have no idea how to move the component pivot. Now that I think about it, the script wouldn't be very that useful but still, I would like to know if there is any way to move the pivot through scripting. Is it possible? cheers, M.Yara
