Summary

The visual effects (VFX) supervisor will create the visual effects of a film, 
series or CGI short film project. The incumbent will oversee the technical and 
artistic teams assigned to a specific project, ensure the technical and visual 
quality of the project, define work methods for artists and validate the work 
presented to the director and producer.

Mission

The main and routine tasks of the CG supervisor are to:

- Supervise and assess employees;
- Direct the artistic and technical validations for a specific project;
- Understand and analyze the script for the VFX shooting script;
- Collaborate with the VFX producer to draft production estimates;
- For each shot, define the tasks, techniques and tools required to carry out 
the work;
- Convey and support the artistic vision set out by the project team director;
- Supervise project task assignment;
- Make technical and artistic decisions for the project;
- Challenge and support the director in carrying out the project as well as the 
technical and general programming teams on technological choices and production 
pipelines;
- Recommend technological choices that support production development (tools 
and engine) to executives;
- Communicate the project's artistic and technical objectives to team members 
on a daily basis;
- Regularly communicate with supervisors and coordinators and ensure that the 
work is carried out by the deadlines;
- Ensure that the objectives and quality standards set out by the producer and 
director are met and provide regular feedback on the artistic quality of the 
production;
- Lead validation periods and the changes/corrections requested by the director;
- Ensure to obtain graphic design of the level of quality expected by the 
producer and director;
- Suggest development and training activities (artistic and technical skills) 
to the studio director;
- Carry out all other related tasks.

Training

University degree in fine arts, photography, computer science or any other 
field relevant to special effects and 3D technologies.

Relevant experience

3-5 years' experience as a VFX supervisor in the 3D sector or any other 
relevant experience in the film or multimedia production sector.
