Adsk knows that letting go of Softimage would mean a serious threat to their
remaining 3d Apps in the long run.
They'd rather see it go the way of the 5D Cyborg (ne1 remember that one?) than
selling it.
all chip in to buy the source code of AD for a price reflective of how
much they value the product (not much), round up the (very talented) 7%,
give them our subscriptions instead to carry on developing it.....

If there is any initiative that we can take to voice our disagreement
regarding this decision, I am all for it. A bulk mail or signature to
Autodesk or something else. Let us do something. If there are enough
people, may be our voice will be heard.
