It would be funny except bankruptcy is probably what he planned all
along and is the desired outcome from his point of view. This type of
scam is all too common. Get the local government to trip all over
themselves with tax concessions, grants, loans, etc., run a business for
a short time. Pocket it all. Go bankrupt. Leave all the expenses to
the taxpayer and ditch all the employees. Dell did it here.
Governments just love to suck up to anyone they think has money. They
forget it's the small businesses that have been there for years that
really employ the majority of people in the area, and they never get a
break.
DD (at least this branch) seems like a very dirty company to me.
