Well, when I said it was "modal" it's because we have no timer event to handle the callback loop without temporarily halting XSI's main thread... but hey, at least it didn't segfault, lol. (In a previous effort just importing it would instantly quit SI.) We'll probably try the timer soon.
About your second question, I believe it's pure; I'll ask.
