The trick though is to force it to only have 1 material. Otherwise it will
bloat your scene with default materials.

I used Collada before just so that I could be able to edit the file. So I
had a parser that went through and removed all materials and then created
just a single material that all objects shared.

Since FBX should be the preferred file format I kind of wish that you guys
also gives us a LOT more flexibility in the future on how to export and
import FBX files. Right now you are often better off using something else.

So, in the future... bring us more options.* Not "unified import/exporter"
between programs! *I want *options*, I also want to be able to access it
through scripting, and it would be really awesome if I could run a batch
converter (that takes softimage or maya files).
