At 7am est my gmail account was compromised as part of a spoof attack
originating from Comcast servers in New Jersey. An email appearing to originate
from me has been sent to this address, containing a link to a site which likely
contains malicious content.

If the malicious link was opened, your security may be in jeopardy and the
machine used should be immediately scanned for malware.

This event occurred while all personal networked machines were offline and does
not seem to be a result of a locally compromised machine but rather a
large-scale brute force password exploit directed at gmail.

My deepest apologies for the inconvenience and any harm which may have resulted
from this email. The originating IP address and details of this event have been
reported appropriately, it has been taken offline, and steps have been taken to
re establish the security of this email account.
