If you multiply the weight by say 10 or so to get out of the [0, 1] range, then
round that to an interger, and plug it into Iterations, you crash as described.

But if you save that integer as a custom attribute, then get it and plug it
into Iterations, it seems to work fine.

I think I remember seeing something similar recently but you should log it to
make sure.

Here's my scene, if you could take a look...

The idea is to replicate the behavior of DPK PaintDeform, so make a
smoothingbased upon the original topology (maintaining the relation between the
points, etc)

Now, the weight map drives the intensity, but this way I am fairly limited (no
buildup possible). If I drive the iteration via the weightmap, I might create a
buildup...

The Iterations port starts out per-object but switches to per-component if you
connect something in another context. Ditto for the Condition port of While.
I've used them both many times.

I just did a quick test over lunch and using a weightmap worked fine. There
must be something else going on in the scene.

Hi,
The repeat iteration number requires a object context integer. while weight map
is per point attribute, so I don't think it's possible.
However, you can use a repeat with counter compound and then use the counter
attribute to compare with your weight map value and do a logic check with it.
In the attached image, I scale the weight map value (normalized) and use it to
tell weather I need to do another increment or not.

Hope it helps.

Hey folks...can I drive the iteration number with a weightmap in the ICE Repeat
node? I tried but SI crashed whenever I connected. I made sure that the
numbers are rounded, and iteration is at least 1, yet SI crashes...
