I have a suspicion this is a 2012 bug that you've imported into 2014 because I have not had any of these issues in 2013 or 2014 testing, but have seen them in 2010-2012. I do remember weird hidden gremlins living in 2012 files which is partly why we skipped that version.
Try making 2014 content from scratch and see if the problem persists. Matt From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Tim Crowson Sent: Tuesday, July 09, 2013 8:46 AM To: [email protected] Subject: 2014 weirdness I don't know what's going on with Soft, but both 2014 and 2014 SP1 are giving me some funky behavior... - Removing referenced models from the scene, either by deletion or resolution change, takes ages. By ages I mean 1-10 minutes depending on the model. They used to offload in a snap. - On several of our scenes, the PlayControl.GlobalIn and PlayControl.GlobalOut values just don't stick. In fact, the 'Out' value will increase everytime I open a scene. - Sometimes render regions just don't do anything. It's like a draw a markee on the screen and nothing. XSI doesn't start processing anything at all. Just sits there. I have to restart XSI to get my render region to do anything. This problem is renderer-agnostic. - My Scene Explorer will refuse to refresh on frequent occasion. I'll have to hit f5 to manually refresh it. This happens a lot when simply selecting items in the explorer and renaming them. I can select them, but I don't see them as being selected. But they are selected in the viewport. I can then hit f2 to rename them, but it's not until I actually hit f5 that my explorer shows the item as selected and renamed. None of this happened in previous versions (although we did skip 2013).
