*FIXED Thanks, that makes sense.
Well I found that installing direct X from the web installer in Microsoft, it fixed the issue. I now can import and export *.x files freely, the libraries are loaded with the DLL’s correctly within SI. Next time I use Windows 8, I’ll know. Thanks for your clues Stephen. -Draise From: Stephen Blair Sent: Thursday, July 18, 2013 1:33 PM To: [email protected] Hi The DirectXExport and DirectXImport dlls depend on the Crosswalk DLL. SOFTIMAGE_COMMONFILES points to the location of the Crosswalk DLL: SOFTIMAGE_COMMONFILES=C:\Program Files\Common Files\Softimage On 18/07/2013 2:25 PM, Andres Stephens wrote: Ah yes, I’ve found the DLL’s, but the libraries are not loading into the plugin manager in SI. I’ve deleted them, reloaded them, copied them to the original location, etc. No luck. If the problem is in the SOFTIMAGE_COMMINFILE env var, how would I fix that? I’m installing DirectX to see if that fixes it. -Draise From: Stephen Blair Sent: Thursday, July 18, 2013 1:21 PM To: [email protected] Those DLLs are in XSI_HOME\Application\plugins Probably a problem with SOFTIMAGE_COMMONFILES env var On 18/07/2013 1:35 PM, Andres Stephens wrote: I’m currently working with a software the only exports objects with *.x files, and I would like to work with them in Softimage. But I have the directXimport and export dll’s missing. Where are they? Where can I get them? I would appreciate not having to reinstall Softimage... where could I find them? I’m running Softimage 2013 SP1, Windows 8. Thanks in advance, for reading and all else! Any hints would be appreciated... =) -Draise
