There is currently a Modo-related promotion of Substance Designer @
http://www.luxology.com/store/compatible/substance/designer/ for $395 USD
(normally $590). It's pretty tempting, assuming it's not bound to Modo
somehow (which I don't have) and the output images work with Softimage like
I'd expect any other images would.

Does anyone have any practical experience with using Substance Designer with
Softimage and care to comment or point out alternatives I should consider
instead?

Thanks,

Eric Cosky

I've been hoping for substance designer support in XSI for a while, and I
think it's pretty certain now that SD is here to stay... if it's not on the
radar it should be.

Anyone know if its on the radar for SI to be able to use substances from
Substance designer 3.5? They can currently go into Max and Maya.

Kind regards
